It's autumn, which means ... boot weather! Woot! Of course, its been in the 80s here on the East Coast, but no matter ... soon the air will turn crisp and it will be time to haul out the sweaters and boots. (And then soon after we'll start freezing our butts off, but let's not think about that now!)
One fall staple I absolutely love is a beautiful pair of riding boots. If you find the right ones, they can be your go-to shoes, because they are SO versatile, and if they fit well and are well made, they should be ultra comfortable.
Obviously, you can wear them with jeans and a t-shirt or sweater, but why stop there?
Now, the particular boots I've had my eye on are the ones shown here: The Blakeley Riding Boot from Lands' End. At $249, they're not cheap, but with a good sale, they'll be a great investment. These G by Guess riding boots are $99 -- more affordable and still super cute (though they're not real leather). Also, you can hunt for leather riding boots at places like TJ Maxx and Marshall's. You never know what you might find!
Here are three looks I've created with the same pair of Lands' End boots:
1. Jeans and boots ... but sexier:
COLLECTIVE CONCEPTS Pintucked Chiffon Blouse ($78 at LordandTaylor.com), LOFT Curvy Super Skinny Jeans ($60 at LOFT.com), H&M Dinner jacket ($41 at HM.com), BCBGMAXAZRIA Harlow Colorblock Envelope Clutch ($88 at LordandTaylor.com)
2. Cozy, but with a chic edge:
3. Boots look great with dresses! So great, I had to show several options:
Mossimo Jean Jacket ( at Target.com) + Madeline floral shift dress ($98 at Gap.Piperlime.com), or Boden pleated skater dress (On sale! $44 at Boden.com), or 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target shirt dress ($40 at Target.com)
Which look is your favorite? Do you have a pair of riding boots?
