chelsea houskaI was perusing Chelsea Houska's Instagram account recently when I realized something rather profound: Chelsea, in addition to her envious hair and eyes that are as smokey as the day is long, has nice eyebrows. Really nice eyebrows. And since eyebrows play a huge role in how our face looks, I set out to find out how to get the best brows possible.

So I called Chelsea.

Just kidding. But I do have a few tips I'd like to share about brows -- some from my personal beauty tip arsenal, some I just picked up from the ol' Google machine.

1. Don't overgroom brows! You probably already know this, but overplucked/waxed/threaded brows are the number one beauty no-no. No one, besides Kate Moss, looks good with super thin brows. If your brows are already naturally thin (hi), simply shape them. Give them arch. Don't make them thinner.

2. This Anastasia Brow Fix Wax Pencil is your best friend. It's a clear wax that holds brows in place, and it's amaaaazing. I read about it on some beauty blog a few years ago (can't remember which) and haven't gone a day without it since.

3. Fill in your brows. I've been using Chanel Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil since, I don't know, I was born. And again, it's amazing. At $29, the pencil's a little more pricey than others, but it lasts forever. Forever, as in years. (And don't forget to go a shade lighter than your natural color when filling in brows. You don't want to look like a clown.)

4. Maintain yo' brows. This is something I definitely don't do, as I get my eyebrows waxed about twice a year. But it makes such a big difference when I do! Go on, ladies, treat yo' self.

Do you keep up with your brows?
