No, Ashley Olsen isn't wearing stilts. That's Elizabeth Olsen on the right with older sister Mary-Kate Olsen. The fashionable sisters attended the CFDAs last night and blanketed themselves in heavy black fabrics for the occasion -- when you're the reigning title holder (M.K. and A. were named Womenswear Designers of the Year for The Row at the 2012 awards), you can wear whatever you want.
So what did they choose?
Elizabeth, 24, wore an outfit from, you guessed it, The Row. She paired a structured black blazer with wide leg black trousers and accessorized with a small tan clutch and a simple gold necklace. She kept her hair and makeup clean, highlighting most her cheeks and lips.
Mary-Kate, 26, on the other hand, didn't wear an item from her line. The petite designer wore a crinkled-silk floor-length vintage Issey Mikyake gown that probably weighed more than she and Ashley combined. She dressed up the look with gorgeous white, green, and red earrings, a lot of bronzer, and a messy blonde chignon.
Although The Row and the Olsens walked away empty-handed (this year's Womenswear Designer award went to Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler), M.K. and comrade Elizabeth both looked elegant and polished at the event.
Who knew oversized black blankets could be worn so fashionably.
Do you like their outfits?
Editor's note: the original version of this post said it was Ashley who attended the event with Elizabeth, when really it was Mary-Kate.
