When Demi Moore and Cher were snapped side by side at a a Hollywood event this week, the amazing image totally begged the question -- good docs or straight-up voodoo? Seriously. No stars have managed to defy age as well as these ladies. Demi, at 51, and Cher, now 66, look better than they did two decades ago. But that's not even the strangest thing about the photograph.
It's not just that they have stopped the hands of time, but they look exactly alike. Both have taut faces, protruding cheekbones, perfectly sculpted noses, and long, dark hair. So clearly they have shared their fountain of youth secret with each another. They literally look like the same person. I wouldn't doubt it if conspiracy theorists started blathering on about how they are, in fact, the same person.
Though the most astounding detail is how there wasn't a crinkle, sag, or wrinkle between the two. If you take a look at the pair posed together in 1996, you will see that they actually look better today. The neck is usually a telltale sign of a woman's age. No matter how much cream you slather on your decolletage, you usually can't escape that turkey wattle. While so many of their peers have succumbed to the inevitable (sorry, Goldie Hawn, Susan Sarandon, and Diane Keaton), they have managed to keep the elasticized, nubile skin of a 20-year-old aspiring sex tape ingenue. Cher has admitted to having work done on her face, but Demi has long denied that she's ever gone under the knife.
But as impressed as we all are with how great they look -- because it's frickin' incredible -- I am still a little freaked out. Eventually, you have to allow Mother Nature to take effect ... don't you? That's not to say they should give up on fighting age entirely, but it must be so stressful, expensive, and exhausting to keep this up forever.
Do you think Demi and Cher look as good as they did 20 years ago?
