Leah Messer’s Purple Extensions Should Inspire All Moms to Switch Things Up (PHOTOS)

leah messerYou guysss, Teen Mom Leah Messer-Calvert dyed her hair purple! The young mother of three is known for switching up her hairdo -- she's gone from blonde to brown to blonde and black at the same time to everything in between -- and we love to see her try new things, if only because we don't have the balls to do it ourselves.

But this go 'round, Leah's purple extensions are something all moms can try.

Clip-in hair extensions are a great way to freshen up your look without the commitment or the cost. You can buy them in almost any color from natural hues to greens, purples, pinks, glittery, you name it.

And for moms like Leah who don't have a lot of free time to spend at the salon, DIY at-home extensions are the perfect solution. Change them out every week or every day ... they're kind of the easiest way to try something new.

Check out these examples and get you some clip-in hair extensions today, gurl.

Leah is 19 or 20, not 40. Quite honestly, purple highlights would look ridiculous on a middle aged woman.

Honestly I think it's fun to change your look no matter what age you are. It's not what you wear, it's how you wear it. If you want to add purple highlight in your hair at age 40 go for it. Besides what will it hurt if they are clip-in extensions. I found some at http://www.snazzylites.com they are great for a fun weekend. I actually get a lot of compliments mostly from men and I am not in my 20's. Just have fun and live a little.

My hair is black, sometimes blonde. Hot topic is always having sales on accessories, including clip in extensions of all colors/patterns/styles. Easier than dying your hair.

I used to do this all the time in high school; even had the vice principal give me her blessing, because they are considered a hair accessory, not permanent. I am now going on 32 years old, and still pull the hair extentions out every once in a while, just to change my look, and when I feel particularly wild and out! Just because we aren't 19 anymore doesn't mean we can't have fun and experiment; I have a friend older than that has several hairpieces in different colors and lengths so she can change her look.

I think it's best not to take any queues/advice from teen moms.     They're not the sharpest knives in the drawer.     Snark :)
