Pippa Middleton is a great-looking lady, but I'm just going to say it here: The woman needs to ease up on her spray tanning. There is such a thing as too dark (especially in the dead of winter), and Duchess Catherine's sister has surpassed that threshold. And then gone in for another coat.
On Wednesday, Pips made an appearance at the Cheltenham Festival, an annual horse racing event in London, where she looked impossibly chic in a bright yellow coat by Katherine Hooker, a Rachel Zoe-esque fur hat, and knee-high boots. And again, a crazy Cast Away-style tan.
Pippa, I love a little extra glow in the frigid months, as well. But it is possible to emerge from the ol' tanning booth without looking like a golden ... retriever.
I don't know, man. It's Friday.
1. Okay, first: Less is More. You can always add another layer of tanner if you're not pleased with the initial result. Taking it off (without a vat of exfoliator) isn't quite as easy. Go level one next time, Pippa. Or, okay, fine, level two.
2. Spray or self tan a few days before your event. If you feel like you've reached George Hamilton-esque heights, no sweat. You've got a few days to fade.
3. Don't tan your face. For whatever reason, having a really dark body doesn't look as ... unsettling as having a super tan face. Go in for a below the neck treatment, and then apply some bronzer to warm up your face.
4. And lastly, if you do feel like you've gone overboard with the tanning, bright yellow's probably not your best pairing. Better to reach for something black, or, I dunno, just not go out.
Do you think Pippa's tan is too much?
