'RHONJ' Joe Gorga Looks Super Tan & Super Unhealthy on His Billboard (PHOTO)

joe gorgaIf you're going to feature a guy on a billboard for a tanning salon, it may as well be Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Gorga, amirite? Dude has a gorgeous glow. A beautiful bronze. He's like a golden ... retriever, for crissake. But Joey. Sweetie. Darling. You know you're not supposed to be fake 'n' bakin'. I know, I know, I know -- nothing can rival an actual, real tan. It clears up your skin. Makes you look at least three years younger. You appear to be well-rested. But at the end of the day, it causes cancer and wrinkles. And that's so not chic. So, here are other, safer options that still make you look dewy and lit from within.

(Worth noting: Joe's estranged sister Teresa Giudice has to pass this billboard every damn day apparently, because it's right where she lives. So there's that.)

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Kate Somerville Somer360 is hands down the best self-tanner. (Seriously, I'm waiting for the day I walk into my cubicle and find a giant box of this stuff, because I swear, I've been promoting it on my own volition for years now.) Somer360 gives an as-real-as-it-gets-without-the-sun tan, and they now have towelettes specifically for your face. I used one just the other day and my husband said to me: "You look tan." True story.

Try a spray tan. If you don't trust your own ability to tan yourself, or if you're jonesing to be in a tanning salon for whatever reason, opt for a spray tan instead. Long gone are the days of emerging a lighter shade of burnt orange. They really do look realistic now.

Bronzer. If you just want a little glow for a few hours or so, reach for the bronzer. It'll warm up your pale winter skin, and you can wash it off at the end of the day. My personal favorite? Bare Escentuals Tinted Mineral Veil.

Do you fake tan at all?
