Getting matching tattoos is a pretty common rite of passage for a couple. I've always thought it was kind of a questionable idea. Until now, because the latest episode of Tattoo Moms introduces us to a couple who has accomplished the matching tattoo thing in about the coolest way possible.
Sasha and Rob met as children and went to school together until she moved to Boston in high school. They met again in Boston several years later, and have been married almost 10 years (and are the parents of two adorable kids). On their seventh anniversary, they were off on a romantic weekend and decided they'd finally get the matching tattoos they'd been talking about for a long time. They decided on their entwined initials, and it was Rob who had the idea that elevated it from sweet to super-cool.
Instead of each of them getting the same tattoo, they each got half the design tattooed on their arm, so it only reveals its meaning when they are together but means nothing when they are apart. Awwwww ...
In the interests of full disclosure, I should note Sasha is an editor here at The Stir and I have been Facebook friends with her since shortly after I started occasionally writing for the site in 2010. She's one of my favorite people to chat with on Facebook but I never knew the tattoo story until now. Check out the whole tale:
