Kim Kardashian Hides Her Baby Bump Using a Classic Slimming Style Trick (PHOTO)

Kim KardashianSo far, some of the outfits Kim Kardashian has chosen to wear during her pregnancy have been anything but maternity-like, not that her trendy duds come as a huge shock to anyone. Kim is no stranger to taking fashion risks, so it's understandable that she's been showing off her growing pregnancy body instead of covering it up -- until now, that is.

Kim was spotted at JFK airport wearing this all-black get-up, which is a far cry from the revealing dresses she's been seen wearing to various events in the past few weeks.

So, what's the deal? Why is Kim suddenly feeling the urge to keep her baby bump under wraps?

If I had to guess, I'd say she's following one of the oldest fashion rules in the book -- when in doubt, stick to basic black. It's flattering, slimming, and looks good on everyone, so you really can't go wrong.

Even though she's Kim Kardashian and everyone knows she's expecting her first child, Kim is at a point in her pregnancy where her baby bump doesn't really look like a baby bump quite yet. In fact, a lot of women simply look like they've put on a little extra weight around the middle from indulging in a few too many good meals during their first trimester, so it can be hard to find outfits that work. (You know, the whole "I'm pregnant but I don't look pregnant" phase.)

By sticking to looser-fitting, black clothing, Kim is able to remain comfortable and stylish without everyone around her zooming in on her belly and trying to catch of glimpse of her baby bump that hasn't "popped" just yet.

But when it does? Yeah, I'm guessing she'll go right back to wearing brightly-hued outfits that show off every last inch of her fab pregnancy bod. (This is Kim, we're talking about, here.)

Do you wear black when you want to appear slimmer?
