Khloe & Kim Kardashian's Colored Jean Disaster Is Another Sign Not Everyone Can Wear Them

LOL 17

Kim Kardashian Khloe KardashianAfter seeing this photo of Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian wearing colored jeans and yucking it up and having a good old time in them, I feel the overwhelming urge to make a confession.

I just "don't get" the whole colored jean trend.

Yes, I think they're fun. And yes, there are plenty of people who look really great in them (like store mannequin and a couple super-skinny 20-somethings I know).

But for the most part, I just can't figure out how so many women pull them off and actually feel good about doing it.

Ok, back to Kim and Khloe for a second. Um, in those pants, it would be pretty hard to miss either of them from a mile or two away, so they must not mind the fact that they both stick out like sore thumbs in those things.

And while it's kind of cute that they're sisters doing the whole matchy-matchy thing, the jeans aren't exactly the most flattering thing either of them has ever worn. (Don't they know the "when in doubt, stick to dark-colored denim" thing?)

But I guess I really can't fault either of them for giving colored jeans a shot, because everyone's wearing them these days. In case you hadn't noticed, they're all the rage right now, but even if it makes me the least cool person on the planet, there's no way I'm breaking down and buying a pair.

I'll admit that I've thought about it a couple of times, because I figure there must be some sort of secret rush of self confidence women feel after putting them on if so many have added them to their wardrobes, but every time I see them in the store -- I just can't do it.

And yes, there are a few reasons why. First, I KNOW they'll make my ass look way bigger than it already is by accentuating every single dimple. (Yes, they will.) Second, I worry that they'll make the cellulite on my upper thighs appear way more pronounced and visible. And third, I feel like people will think I'm a 35-year-old mom who is desperately trying to look 21 again. (And nobody appreciates that.)

Do you have a pair of colored jeans?

My skinny 16 year old looks great in them! I, on the other hand, even only 10 lbs. heavier, not so great. There should probably be an age limit for those things.

Skinny or curvy, you don't have to be a Kardashian to wear something in confidence! Who cares what other people think? Will you honestly feel better if 10 people compliment you or if you go through the day FEELING like a million bucks? To each her own, I guess.

Er I never have anything nice to say about Kim but she looks really cute in that picture. Wayyy better than some of the things she has worn for sure!!

actually, for once, i think they look pretty good. they toned it down with the black tops, but i think khloe should have gone for a longer fit like kim did.

that said, no, i won't be doing colored jeans. only because it's not my personal preference.

I think this article is rude. They both look great.

I am the same height and have a similar body type as kim. I would definitely wear the jeans that she has on. I love that color. The red ones are cute too but a little bright. They both look really cute. And its an improvement for kim.

I love colored denim and I'm curvy just like the Kardashians. The trick for me is wearing a long top so that the first thing you see isn't bright red/yellow/blue/whatever colored hips swinging at you. I also tend to gravitate toward the darker colored jeans like purple, forest green, and rust. That way it isn't screaming "Hey look at my butt! It's right here! Look!"

I feel the author is overthinking this trend. It's cute, it's fun, it's an easy way to add color to your wardrobe w/o looking ridiculous (unless of course, you're wearing any sort of neon color).

I think you're right it looks bad. It's just a trend that will be gone in a few months. It doesn't make their body shapes look good. They look cheap and as if they were shopping in the teen section. It doesnt matter if you are wearing the latest trends it can still look forced and unflattering which is exactly what they look like. I am 5'6 and 112 lbs, I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of those. Tacky written all over it. You're right to stick to dark denim, always classy and chic, will last for several seasons and is flattering on most body shapes.
