'Teen Mom' Maci Bookout & Son Bentley Take Part in World's Cutest Fashion Trend (PHOTO)
Maci and BentleyMaci Bookout and her adorable son Bentley did something super cute recently. Something that may make a few people throw up in their mouths. Something I loooove. They wore matching shoes!
Maci posted a photo to her Twitter of both she and Bentley wearing the same red Converse sneakers, along with the caption: "Benny matching me everyday, every color! #chucks." And I died. In fact, this is just my ghost writing this post right now.
But some people are not into the whole parents matching their kids thing (despite its insane adorableness). And I feel them. Because a little piece of me dies every time I see a couple wearing matching outfits.
Now, when I say that I think it's adorable seeing a mom and daughter or dad and son wearing "matching" outfits, I'm not talking about them wearing the exact same thing. (Also, parents in onesies? No thanks.) I mean, something similar. Like the same sneakers. Or a matching pattern. Or v-neck shirts.
But when couples do it -- I don't know, man. Something about it is just weird to me. I don't know if it's because it says something along the lines of, "We've both given up our individuality," or because, to put it bluntly, it's just kind of cheesy. I'm one of those people who thinks that fashion is a way of expressing one's self (I mean, think about it -- you can get a fairly good idea about a person by the way he or she dresses). When a dude and a lady (or two dudes, or two ladies) are wearing the same thing, it only speaks about them as a couple, not them as individual people.
But, like I said, I do think it's kind of sweet when parents and kids go somewhat matchy-matchy on everyone. I mean, come on, how can you not find this photo of Maci and Bentley cute?
Do you and your kids -- or partner -- dress like twinsies?
