5 Super Cute Alternatives to 'Mom Jeans'

mom jeansThanks to Tina Fey and Saturday Night Live, the mere uttering of the words "mom jeans" is enough to make anyone smirk. The term -- a pejorative one -- is used to describe the seriously unflattering types of jeans some women choose to wear after they have kids. (In the immortal words of Fey: "Give her something that says: I'm not a woman anymore ... I'm a mom!")

Thankfully, most women today don't wear "mom jeans" anymore. But some do. They don't have to, though! Even though our bodies aren't what they were before we had kids, there is another way. Here are 5 super cute alternatives to mom jeans.

yeah these are cute & all...but only if youre skinny. Except for the patterned tights, these wouldnt be cute unless u have a hot body already...in that case, you probably wouldnt be wearing what someone would refer to as "mom jeans"

Actually, they make "skinny jeans" for plus-sized women.  Sizes in the 22-26 range.  I bought a pair for my mother, and they look great with her long sweaters, tunics and boots.  "Skinny" only refers to the taper at the ankle. . .not the body of the person wearing them.

I love maxi dresses. I'm super duper pale, and feel self conscious wearing shorts, so they are perfect for summer, plus you can easily chase after a kid. In the fall/winter I love my jeggings with sweaters and tall boots. Although 5 days a week I'm in scrubs and sneakers.
