Courtney StoddenThe old, trashier StoddenCourtney Stodden usually looks like a train wreck. She's one of those people we all love to follow because she's so heinous, amiright? So you can imagine my surprise when she recently stepped outside with her awkward husband Doug Hutchison looking ... surprisingly different? As in, she looks normal. Well, as normal as you can look rockin' a little red dress hugging up your lady parts and a pair of way-high I'm gonna fall on my face any second stilettos, anyway.

I ... I feel ... confused. Isn't this the same girl who dressed up as a cat and coughed up a hairball? Awkward-city.

Talk about a 180-degree change for the better. She looks healthier, more mature, and more comfortable with who she is. And you know what? I think I know the root of the problem.

You know what's really selling me on this whole new look? Her roots. Do you see how they are the same color as the rest of her hair? Suddenly, despite Courtney's trashy ensemble, she looks older and overall better. When you have dark roots under even the best of dye jobs (Courtney's isn't one of them), it throws the whole look off.

Then, there's that whole less eye makeup, classic red lip thing. I love it when she keeps it simple. And is it just me, or does she totally look like a young Christina Aguilera a little bit?

Either way, I'm hoping that this is just the first of many times we see Courtney step out looking a tad more cleaned up. Next up on the changing timeline -- clothes that FULLY cover her hoo-hah. I know, can't ask for too much upfront.
