Kristen Stewart Thinks She's Too Good for Makeup Ads

Eye Roll 21

kristen stewart on cover of german glamourBefore she was getting ripped left and right for being a "trampire," Kristen Stewart definitely had her fair share of haters. I don't really blame people for being a bit turned off by the fact that the Twilight star actually seems to DESPISE being a star. Besides the fact that she scowls at cameras all the time, just about every interview she gives exhibits contempt for what one Lady Gaga once termed The Fame.

Take the most recent example. In Glamour Germany, Kristen discussed her career, which included ripping the idea of ever lending her face and name to a makeup campaign ...

She says:

I would never work with people who aren’t really creative and aren’t committed to what they do. Unfortunately, there are a lot of those people out there, they are f***ing everywhere, and they try to suck the soul out of you. For example, I would never do a makeup campaign, even though the [final] photos with me would probably look good. Thank you, but it doesn’t interest me.

Fair enough if it doesn't "interest" her. There's no reason she should feel obligated to do something that she's not into. But to act as though it's "soul-sucking" work and basically insinuate that the people involved in those campaigns "aren't really creative and aren't committed to what they do"? Puhhhleeez!

Shilling for a lipstick, mascara, hair product, or face wash is absolutely legitimate work for an actress. Most of us don't look down on someone like Andie MacDowell, Sarah Jessica Parker, or Beyonce for doing it. We just figure it's par for the course. And, when you think about it, selling makeup's not exactly any different from selling a magazine by appearing on its cover or selling a major film franchise. And wait, how about perfume? Apparently, makeup's out, but she's cool with being the face of Balenciaga's Florabotanica fragrance ... Riddle me how that double-standard works?

Never mind that, though. Once Breaking Dawn: Part 2 comes out, she'll be stickin' to indie flicks thankyouverymuch. More power to her, but she shouldn't be surprised if she hits some walls along the way. After all, I'm sure some people in the biz are already fed up with her persistent need to bite the hand that feeds her.

Do you get where KStew is coming from or are you totally rolling your eyes at her hypocritical remark?

im rolling my eyes at this article. So what that she doesnt wanna do a makeup campaign? However she feels about those people is her opinion. Which shes entitled to. I hate how there are some "writers" on here who seem to take the teeniest comment & turn it into an issue just bcus they dont like the person that said it.

Isn't Cate Blanchett creative and committed to her acting and she has been the face of a skin care ramge for more than 10 years. Kristen will never have Cate's acting depth or class. Grow up you idiot.

If Kristen Stewart doesn't want to do any of these ads or support any campaigns about any thing, then that's her choice. The one thing that she does have to remember is that the fans out there are who made her what she is today. If she didn't want to be a celebrity then she shouldn't have gotten into the business. Actors know that they take the chance in becoming famous when they are actors. That's all part of the business. I understand her feeling towards the media, because alot of them print nothing but lies so that there magazines could sell. So I don't blame her for the way that she is towards them, but Kristen not everyone out there is like that. You're a beautiful young woman and your famous so everyone wants a piece of you. Don't be too hasty about things because just remember, the fans are the ones who made you who you are. The fans would love to see you in magazines and in interviews and whatever else that they can. You know what magazines like to print lies and which ones don't, so just pick and chose. I will always be a fan of yours no matter what. Looking forward to seeing you in future movies. Whatever you do don't burn your bridges in the movie business or you won't get anymore offers. Your too young to retire.

Didnt I just read somewhere that she is representing some perfume? Why does she think she's so above doing ads? She can't act so maybe she'll need a backup job.

Keep talking. Show the world how stupid and ungrateful you are.
