You can put away the countdown calendars, guys; the moment you've all been waiting for has finally arrived: Blake Lively's engagement ring, and wedding band, have made their long-awaited debut. And let me tell you, they were definitely worth the wait. These balls-to-the-wall sparkly bad boys make Kate Middleton's 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring look like something that came out of a plastic egg at an arcade.
Well, not really. Actually, not at all. Not even a little bit. But the rings are gorgeous, and they're different. Gargantuan like every other celebrity engagement bauble? Yes. But definitely different.

The ring was apparently designed by celeb-jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz and, as you can see, features one large oval diamond surrounded by smaller, more dainty diamonds. And although you can't really tell from the photo, the diamond is actually light pink, JLo-style. A spokesperson for the jeweler said that Schwartz and Ryan "worked together to design a custom setting in rose gold and pave diamonds with a nod to deco."
Whatever they did, worked. This thing is stunning. And I love that it's not this massive (meaning bulky) piece of jewelry, like most super-loaded, super-famous people have. Blake's ring manages to look both, well, massive and delicate at the same time -- guaranteed, this will start a trend.
Nice work, Ryan. If this acting thing doesn't work out, I smell a future in gemology.
