Christian Louboutin Cinderella Heels Are Fit for a Princess (PHOTO)
Girly girls, rejoice, your shoe has arrived -- the much-anticipated Christian Louboutin Cinderella-inspired slipper is here. The limited edition red-sole heels debuted yesterday at Houte Couture week in Paris and they're certainly fit for a princess. Adorned with glitter (my word, not theirs) and butterflies, this stiletto is sure to be a hit with Mariah Carey and anyone else who fancies themselves to be fairy-tale royalty.
Since making a shoe out of glass is just unreasonable, Louboutin used light lace and delicate, sparkly Swarovski crystals to evoke a sense of weightless romance, and it sure is perty. Only problem is, you can't have them.
Only 20 pairs of the Cinderella shoes will be made, and they're all going to be given away. Louboutin designed the heel in cahoots with Disney, who's releasing the iconic chamber-maid-turned-princess tale on Blu-ray and DVD this fall, and has decided that the shoes will be awarded to contest winners, and there can only be one winner from each country. As of now, the contest hasn't been announced.
Odds are more likely that you'll marry Prince Harry and become real-life royalty before you'll be squeezing your pretty little feet into a pair of these puppies, but you can still dream, after all. If Cinderella taught us anything, it's that a patriarchal society that values modesty, piousness, submissiveness, and beauty is better for women who marry rich ... and that everyone looks killer in a sexy pair of enchanting heels.
Start planning your attack to get your hands on these shoes -- I have a feeling you'll have stiff competition from those Kardashian ladies and all those Housewives with faux-royal titles. If you can't be a real princess, least you can do is dress like the Grimm brothers' interpretation of one.
What do you think of the Louboutin Cinderella heels?
