Homemade Hair Spray

I hate the way my hairspray smells, but I love the way it works. I used to use Aussie, which reminds me of grape Dimetapp. But that smell takes me back to high school, so I don't use it anymore.

I don't use a lot of hairspray, just a little to
control my bangs and give my locks a little texture. When I was talking to my sister about this, she told me that a friend of hers makes her own hairspray with lemons!

You will need:

  • 2 lemons (or 2 oranges if you have dry hair)
  • 4 cups of water
  • A clean spray bottle

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Chop up the lemons (or oranges) in six pieces on a cutting board and add everything to boiling water (seeds, juice, and all).
  2. Simmer for one hour, then strain so no pulp, seeds, or skin enters the spray bottle.
  3. Let cool in refrigerator before use.

Since it's all natural, it's great for kids hair, too. This will keep for a week without refrigeration. And it smells great!
