5 Must-Have Beauty Products to Get Through a Summer BBQ Sweat Free

sunI consider myself an expert on sweating. I'm amazing at perspiring -- my body releases enough water in a day to fill a baby pool -- and I've learned over the years how to deal with such prolific thermoregulation. Sure it sounds great that my body's able to provide the kids with a place to swim, but all my sweating is not that cute. I wish it was socially acceptable to leave a trail of freshly plopped saline in my wake, but it isn't. So how do I deal? Lots of complaining and sweat-"proof" makeup, of course.

Nothing will keep you 100 percent dry at a backyard BBQ in July, but there are some products out there that do better than others in the hot summer heat. Here's my list of 5 must-have products that will help you get through an outdoor event without your diaphoresis drowning the guests.

mascaraTrish McEvoy Mascara, $30

If you're not yet using this mascara, shame on you. It will change your life. IT LITERALLY DOES NOT SMUDGE. The end. You're welcome.

blotting papers
Tatcha Aburatorigami Blotting Papers, $12

Once you've dabbed your sweat off with a hand towel (just me?), you'll want to get rid of the oil that's left behind. These blotting papers are amazing. All-natural and safe to use all you want, these babies are worth the price because, well, they work. Buh bye, greasiness!

Smashbox Tinted Moisturizer, $30

You wanna be happy this summer? Don't wear face makeup. I'm sorry, there's no point. It'll clog your pores and run down your face in a river or ugliness. Use tinted moisturizer instead of foundation and you won't have this problem. Lightweight and oil free, it gives you some coverage without turning you into a globby hot mess.

NYC Smooch Proof Lip Stain, $10

I don't bother with lipstick or gloss in the summer. Too hot. Feels too heavy for me. Lip stains, on the other hand, are perfect. They go on matte, feel super light, and don't smudge.

eye shadow
Tarte Lock 'n Roll Eyeshadow, $17

I'm not huge fan of eyeshadow (#hoodedeyespeoplesproblems), but this one sounds great. It's a twofer -- one side is primer that keeps the shadow in place and the other is the shadow itself. It won't smudge or crease -- perfect for sweating your ass off over the grill.

So -- what are your favorite summertime beauty products?
