I remember Emma Stone when she was a plucky redhead on a singing reality show, and now she's a blond bombshell starring in this summer's hottest movie, The Amazing Spider-Man. Emma's quickly becoming one of Hollywood's most stylish young ladies, from her Met gala after-party dress to her Calvin Klein moment at the Golden Globes, she's made an enviable impression on the red carpet. Almost everything she's worn has been picture perfect, but you can't help but wonder what she was thinking with this latest look for Spider-Man's U.K. premiere.
Between this old-Hollywood-meets-goth-girl-meets-Rooney-Mara look and her Vogue cover, is Emma's style changing for good?
More from The Stir: Celebrity Fashion FAILS!
Maybe it's the blond hair that's inspired her to take more fashion risks, but the 25-year-old actress is becoming borderline unrecognizable. I mean, did anyone else wonder what that not unbeautiful half-lemur, half-alien mutation was on the cover of Vogue before realizing it was Emma?
Her shift away from the pretty girl in the Martin Grant party dress to the mysterious woman in the Gothic Gucci gown is not entirely unwelcome. Everyone's gotta play around with fashion to stay sane -- remaining in one aesthetic for too long can get stale real quick, and I should know. I've dressed like a fifth grader on the playground since the mid '90s, and these Sambas aren't particularly stylish anymore.
While I may prefer Emma in something a little softer, I don't disagree with her break from the norm. Whether she goes Medieval or animal-alien, I have to give her props for keeping things fresh. The Amazing Spider-Man American premiere's coming up -- looking forward to seeing more of the "new" Emma then.
What do you think of Emma's new look?

I think she looked more "natural" and thus the best in "Superbad." Since then, she looks like she's lost weight and with the blonde hair (which I don't think goes well with her skin type) it seems she's trying to fit into the Hollywood mold. Kinda sad. Happens too often.
i think she looks amazing
I love emma and everything she has done (except superbad, but that wasn't her fault, i just couldn't stand the rest of the cast). I love her new look. I have a major girl crush on her. Marry me emma? :)
