8 Colorful Wedding Dresses for the Bride Who Doesn't Want White

pink wedding dressWhen Cynthia Nixon married Christine Marinoni in a pale green Carolina Herrera gown, I loved how the color looked with her gorgeous red hair. And I loved the color, which was custom-made by the designer for the Sex and the City star. White is classic and gorgeous for a wedding, but why not try color? Your wedding; your rules.

Pastel hues are popping up on wedding dresses that would look great on brides, so I rounded up 8 pretty gowns that aren't white.

This blush Sweet Tea Gown ($1,400) from BHLDN isn't too daring in color, but it's definitely not white. I love the dark feather accents.

Of course there isn't a wedding without something blue ....

Crashing Waves Gown ($2,200) also from BHLDN has a Grecian feel, but the light blue is just enough of a hint of color without being too unusual.

The violet Josephine dress from Samuelle is so feminine and gorgeous. The designer would make it so it's not sheer as seen on this model. How cool would it be to have the bridesmaids wear white when the bride is in this gown? Price not listed.

Samuelle's Chloe dress has that Gwen Stefani feel with the pink dip dye shading at the bottom. Price not listed.

Naeem Khan Illusion-Top Embroidered Gown ($4,890) from Neiman Marcus has such gorgeous detailing at the top. Pretty in pink.

Oleg Cassini Shantung A-line Satin Gown ($800) from David's Bridal is not only an excellent price, but it's in a very pale blue-ish silver that is super stylish.

And here is that beautiful pale green. The Harper Strapless Mermaid by Vera Wang might be the prettiest green I've ever seen. Price not listed.
