Well, it's only been a day or so since Jessica Simpson introduced her baby girl, Maxwell, to the world on the cover of People magazine, and already questions are being raised about her image and whether or not it's been retouched or photoshopped.
And I guess I really shouldn't be all that shocked that some are doubting the cover's authenticity, because plenty of celebrities have had more than a little airbrushing help when it comes to looking picture perfect in magazine photos. (God forbid they should pose for a cover in their natural state.)
Huffington Post pointed out some key areas of Jess's photo which led them to believe it's been retouched -- and upon taking a closer look at the parts they singled out, they do seem to be on to something.
They noted that Jessica's fingers look elongated, her eyes a bit flat, a weird space between her thumb and forefinger, a much larger shoulder than someone of her petite frame should have, and also a "squished" looking face.
And after really zooming in on this photo, I do sort of see what they mean about her fingers and shoulder. She's a petite woman, so both of those body parts do appear slightly larger than you'd expect. But then again, it could just be the way she's positioned while holding the baby or the angle of the camera.
But when it comes to her face? Yeah, I'm willing to bet that it was airbrushed to appear thinner and less puffy. Poor Jess is already under a microscope because of how much weight she gained during her pregnancy, and people are going to be literally sizing her up and down every time she's photographed until she sheds every last ounce of baby weight. I don't see how anyone could fault her if she did allow a bit of retouching on the People cover to make her face appear a bit slimmer to more closely resemble her pre-baby self. What celeb in their right mind would want to pose for a magazine cover just weeks after giving birth? (I sure wouldn't, and I'm nowhere near famous.)
Regardless of how much or how little airbrushing (if any at all) went on with this photo, Jessica really does look gorgeous and has the whole motherly glow thing going on. Being a mom definitely seems to agree with her!
Does Jessica's photo look retouched to you?

Where is the site that points out the photoshopping??
All photos of celebrities are retouched, even if they claim not to be. This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.
I agree with GlowWorm! She is on the cover of a mag, of course her photo has been retouched! She is beautiful with or without photoshop and it is normal to gain weight when pregnant. It also takes a while to lose the weight, I wish people would stop pretending celebs are inhuman.
It looks like the neck is not even coming out of the center of the torso...and that elongated shoulder! It's like they photoshopped a different head on the body (or chiseled away at the sides of her face so much that it is off center). I thought it looked weird when I first saw it and "googled" it see if anyone else thought it did too.
not all celebrity pics are photoshopped but in this case Jessica couldn't refuse the retouching because she's not a big enough star even though she's been around for nearly 15 years. unlike say there's a famous photo of Paul Newman holding his youngest daughter Claire Olivia when she's a baby that was published sometime in 1966
