This is seriously shady! Brad Pitt wore a $1,250 pair of sunglasses to a recent movie premiere.
He hit the red carpet for his Killing Them Softly screening at Cannes rocking super-pricey, titanium aviators by Sama Eyewear that have mirrored lenses coated with 18K rose gold.
As Pitt usually does, he looked good. Really good. I know a lot of people hate the "jesus look" he's been going for lately, but I dig it. What I don't go for? Over-the-top, eye-roll-worthy excess from a do-gooder like Pitt.
Insane luxury is as essential as breathing for some stars. Kanye West bought a $180,000, gold wrist watch encrusted with brown, white, yellow, and black diamonds arranged into the shape of his face. Suri Cruise's parents plunked down $100,000 for a custom made tree house.
But Brad Pitt is different. He and Angelina Jolie are the kinds of superstars that make me want to follow in their philanthropic footsteps. They give millions to charity, build houses for hurricane-ravaged families, and keep attention focused on issues that the public would have otherwise long-ago forgotten. He gives and tells us regular folks to give too (just on a much, much, much smaller scale of course). Cheating and man-stealing allegations aside, they are really good people. Can you honestly say that about most celebrities?
So sporting these over-priced specs seems like a pretty crude move. Couldn't that money be better used to, well, feed a starving kid or something? Even more excessive? The $500,000 engagement ring he slipped on Angie's finger a month ago. Can you imagine how many refugees that sparkly sucker could save? I just hope she doesn't wear the rock on her next United Nations mission.
Do you think stars should flash over-the-top buys when so many people are struggling?

Slow news day? I heard Roy from Sigfried and Roy is a penis groper. TMZ.com has it on video. Write about that.
You're welcomed.
that man spreads so much around he can have what ever he wants. I don't see to many "stars" hanging out in New Orleans, 3rd world countries etc. actually getting their hands dirty literally or spending their own $$ so he can go for it. Now, Kanye?? not sure if he does anything good for others so yeah maybe he shouldn't... but they all will have to be ok with it for themselves in the end. I'm not their judge...
What difference what it makes what they spend their money on?
Do you not get pedicures, manicures, or own anything designer? To call out Brad Pitt for wearing expensive sunglasses to an event is hypocritical. They DO do a lot of good work. Not every penny of theirs needs to go to charity. Do you donate every spare cent to a worthy cause?
As an aside, from what I understand a lot of "red-carpet" wear is loaned. Who are you to say that Pitt purchased these sunglasses, and they weren't loaned to him by the company for marketing?
I think the amount of money and all the good deeds this man does, he can wear whatever sunglasses he wants. I found this post extremely tacky and in bad taste.
Since he makes the living that allows him to generously donate so much time and money (not to mention the good that's achieved bc he's a celebrity and people feel inspired/shamed into helping other by his example) through his personal appearance and image maybe you should consider that his showing up on that red carpet, continuing to work when he doesn't have to and could just horde all of his money and maintaining said celebrity status with these sunglasses (which were most likely given to him to wear so articles like this would be written and the designers name would be dropped) as philanthropic. Not to mention heaven forbid some one purchase something well with in their means and some one who has done so much good be given something very nice, that again, they can afford. I'm sure the next time she's reaching out to feed starving children they'll all be weighing in on the ring.
Oh please, get over yourself, because the man does good, now he doesn't deserve to have anything that he himself wants? This is the dumbest article I think I've ever read here at the stir, and trust me, that's saying a whole lot...
So, he should give ALL of his money away? From what I understand he and Aneglina Jolie have very deep and generous pockets and they donate a LOT of money as well as their time to those in need. If he wants to buy a $1250 pair of sunglasses that IS his right. Do you give ALL of your money away? Given your opinion I suppose we should presume that you don't get your hair cut, buy new shoes or clothes unless you NEED them and then you ONLY go to Goodwill or hit deep sales, that you only buy the barest basics for food and no splurges, you never eat out, etc. right? Every $6.25 you spend on non-needed items ($6.25 x's 200 equals $1250 so that is your own words coming back at you) would feed one child and so, if you are spending any extra money on things you want you are depriving hungry children of a meal.
You do realize most of the things celebrities wear to red carpet events (particularly accessories and jewelry) are loaners right? He may not have payed a penny for those glasses and had to give them back at the end of the night. Besides he can spend his money how ever he wants...
