Anne Hathaway Hacks Her Hair Off & It's Hot (PHOTO)

Anne HathawayLook who's sporting a daring new do. Anne Hathaway psyched us out once before while filming One Day a few years back when she showed off a pixie cut, but we later found out it was only a wig. This time it appears that she has hacked off most of her hair for real.

Wow. It takes a minute to adjust, but while I'm sure there are people that will hate it, I'm loving it.

According to People she did it in preparation for her role in the upcoming movie adaptation of Les Miserables. In it, she plays a single mother who sells her hair and works as a prostitute to feed her child. Talk about embracing a role. Women will do a lot of things, like starve themselves (apparently she's losing a bunch of weight for the role too) or pack on pounds for a film, but it's a brave few that will actually do something this drastic to their hair.

Also, few could pull it off and look this good, but Anne can rock this look. She has strikingly strong features and isn't traditionally pretty, but she's gorgeous nonetheless. She has one of those faces that make you want to stare, and her flawless skin and gorgeous eyes and lips will just stand out even more with her shorn locks. We've seen her with numerous up-dos over the years, and she doesn't need her hair flowing to shine.

In pictures snapped this morning, she doesn't look so sure about her new do. I'm sure it's a crazy adjustment to go to run her fingers through her hair, only to find hardly any of it. As difficult as it is though, I imagine it's also freeing in many ways too. We all put so much time and energy into it, but it's just hair.  The good news is it will always grow back ... and if it takes too long, there are always extensions.

What do you think of Anne Hathaway's drastic new look? Could you ever cut your hair this short?

She can totally pull it off. Me? No way.

I have cut it that short... I'll never do it again.

Personally, I think it looks horrible. Very few women can pull off a short pixie cut, and she isn't one of them. Her features look kind of manish combined with the short hair. Oh well, it'll grow back, and if she likes it, that's all that matters.

Never thought she was pretty to begin with I always found her weird and creepy this just reminds me of a young boy who is sexually confused I don't know just something about her that bothers me

I agree that Anne has very strong features. I wouldnt call her classically pretty, but there is a sense of the "unusual" with her features. To probably be more exact, her features are very "intense" which can throw people out and totally understandable.

I think the hair looks ok, but not terrific. Whereis she had strong features before, they have now been magnified. In Anne's case for some reason, the short do seems "wrong" even though it looks aight.

And yes, I have had a pixie cut. Personally I don't believe it suited me.

I DO have it that short the vast majority of the time. I had hair I could sit on when I was a teenager; I got it chopped to chin-length when in college. I couldn't believe how light my head felt. A few weeks later, I got it cut again, this time to pixie length and have never gone back. Very occasionally I grow it out, but about shoulder-length, I usually can't stand it anymore and get it chopped short again. It's currently about Anne's length, and, yes, my features are strong enough to carry it off successfully.

With her features I bet it looks really good. This is a bad picture though, so I can't really say.

I had a pixie cut a while back, I liked it and may do it again sometime. This photo isn't flattering and doesn't really show the haircut so I don't think you can decide whether it suits her or not from this. Also, as long as she likes it, good for her.

I personally love short hair. I've had every variation of it. From shorn with clippers, to an 8 inch mohawk, a pixie cut, and everything in between. Short hair looks better on me than long hair.

Buuuuttt, idk how it looks on her, I can't wait to see a full on face shot of it though
