Christina Ricci Wows in Bright Shorts

Christina RicciI know, I know, YOU HAAAATE SHORTS. You've been telling me this now for two years.

But how can you hate them when you see this fetching photo of Christina Ricci?

For a recent event at Barneys in Manhattan, she put a twist on the bright pants trend by donning a pair of eye-catching orange shorts, and if you're a mom with great gams, you could totally rock this look this spring and summer.

Just be sure that your top isn't too clingy -- otherwise, it could look like you're showing off a little too much.

I think Christina gets the look just right with a boxy top to counter all the leg she's showing. Platform wedge sandals keep things on the dressy side.

BarneysIf you've got $525 to burn, you can buy the exact same Maiyet shorts that Christina's wearing! If not, don't worry ...

Forever 21

Forever 21 has a similar look for just $17.80!

J.CrewIf you like bright shorts and you're not on a shoestring budget, I recommend that you check out J.Crew. They've got lots of shorts lengths to choose from -- these chino shorts (J.Crew, $45) are the shortest option -- and lots of colors, as well.

Lucky BrandI'm also liking these Riley denim shorts (Lucky Brand, $69.50).

I never, ever order shorts online (or pants for that matter), because I need to know how they're going to fit in the crotch before I buy them. Too much can go wrong there for me to trust a photo on my computer!

However, I can't wait to go to the mall and try on a few pairs -- If I can find a good fit, I'd love this look for summer.

How about you?
