Jennifer Aniston's Painful Beauty Rituals Make Us Glad We're Not Famous

jennier anistonLet me ask you a question: How many times have you seen a picture of Jennifer Aniston on a magazine cover and thought to yourself, "Gee, it would be totally awesome to look as good as she does. Why can't I be that gorgeous? Why don't my hair and skin look as healthy and perfect as hers?"

I think it's safe to say that pretty much every single one of us has envied Jennifer for her incredible looks at one point or another. But remember: A good bit of the reason Jen looks so radiant is because she is a celebrity, and because she isn't a mom (yet). Let's face it -- whether we like it or not, kids really have the ability to add a few years to our appearance, right? (Or at least that's the excuse I like to use for not looking 21 anymore.)

But as youthful and gorgeous as she is, it sounds like being Jennifer Aniston isn't all it's cracked up to be. In fact, it sounds like getting dolled up when you're an A-list celebrity like her can be pretty darn painful.

Jennifer recently talked to Conan O'Brien about how she's resorted to getting facial peels to stay young looking. And while it's obvious those peels are working for her, it sounds like the experience might not be worth the results. Jen said that she "looks like a battered burn victim for a week" after getting one, and at one point, her skin even "fell off" for about eight days. Gross!

Can you imagine your kids' horror if they saw you walking around with your skin hanging off your face for an entire week or more? Plus, how would you manage to get anything done at home, let alone be able to leave the house to take them to school and all their other activities? OMG. It would be next to impossible, right?

Being a celebrity must have tons of perks, but I can't help but think that sometimes the pressure of having to look years younger than you actually are has to be pretty draining. Last time I checked, having our faces peel away isn't the most natural thing on the planet. I mean -- we're humans, not snakes!

Yeah, I think I'm just fine settling for being "a regular mom." At 34 years old, I look 34 years old. Since when is there anything wrong with that?

Have you tried any extreme procedures to fight the signs of aging?
