Miley Cyrus hasn't made the best handful of choices in the last few years. Between all of that "salvia" smoking and her questionable looking equal sign tattoo, I was starting to wonder what happened to the sweet little Hannah Montana the kiddos I used babysit for love oh sooooo much.
However, there's one recent choice America's richest teen star made that I'm legitimately jealous over: Her new short haircut. The 19-year-old singer/actress/rebel tweeted that she chopped off a casual 5 inches on Friday. If you ask me, it looks like more than that. It also looks pretty freakin' fab.
I've got to admit, Miley's got some kahunas. I've had long hair for years now, and I don't think I could ever part with it.
Long hair is something you become very attached to. Call me lame, but I've had give or take the exact same long hairstyle for the last six years now. Us long-haired women, we view our tresses as a sort of security blanket. Not to mention -- I can do whatever I want with it! I can put it up in a tight bun or style it down straight or wavy as I please.
When you cut your hair short, though, your options change. It's not that it's a bad change, necessarily. But throwing it up and leaving the house may not be as easy of an option anymore. It takes some getting used to. It also takes patience.
If you ask me, Miley opting for a shorter style shows she maturing (if only just a bit). The star is ready to take on a new beauty challenge, put in the extra effort, and I applaud her for that. Kudos to you, Miley. The cut looks fab. Now, if only someone could work some remotely natural looking color into your strands, then you'd be all set.

I think the cut is cute. I like my hair longer, but that's just me.
...WOW if short hair is a sign of maturity I've been mature since I was in the 2nd grade. I had a hate hate relationship with my curly frizzy hair it was chopped off since the 2nd grade and it was only when I was in my Junior year that I decided I could live with it long and that I actually like it better and let it grow out for good!
