Lea Michele People's Choice Awards 2012Don't you just love fashion spotting while watching awards shows? I absolutely adore every opportunity to channel my inner Joan Rivers (minus the plastic surgery). Last night's People's Choice Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles had its fair share of glammed up leading ladies, but I couldn't take my eyes off of Glee's own Lea Michele. The actress, who snagged the award for Favorite TV Comedy Actress, beating out Tina Fey, co-star Jane Lynch, Kaley Cuoco, and Courteney Cox, looked AMAZING.

Her white Marchesa gown was so not what I expected, with beautiful draping and so many intricate layers. It fit her like a dream! Accented by a strappy pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz, Lea did Rachel Berry proud.

BUT we haven't even gotten to my fave part of it all, just yet. I'll give you a hint: Pretty in pink.

It's those bold pink lips!

There's nothing that says I'm here to have a little bit of fun like a colored pout. Lea's fun lipstick shows that she's not afraid to try something new, and it most definitely makes a sexy statement. I love the shade, too! It works with her skin tone and brightens up her face.

Lea also did the accented lip the right way. When doing something dramatic, it's best to play up one focal point at a time. The 25-year-old kept her hair simple, with loose waves and a side part. Her makeup? Everything was pretty much muted, aside from her kiss. She's clearly got this whole bright smooch thing down to a science.

Just like Lea, I've been playing with my lip color lately, but I've mostly stuck with deep reds. Looks like I have some new inspiration to try out a pink pucker!
