If you're a fan of country music, of style, or of both, there's big news in the music and fashion world today as singer Hillary Scott and drummer Chris Tyrrell both from the band Lady Antebellum wed this weekend in upstate New York. The couple tied the knot in front of family and friends, but fellow bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood weren't able to attend sadly, but look forward to celebrating with the newlyweds in the next few weeks. Hillary and Chris broke the news about their wedding via a short video on their website -- the couple says they wanted us to hear the good news first from them before anyone else spilled the beans.
The thing that caught my eye more than anything else in their adorable video was Hillary's classic style and new bride glow. In a white Vera Wang gown, the singer looked graceful yet whimsical and rocked the best wedding accessory ever:
Her big ol' smile. Girl was grinning from ear to ear! I don't care how many somethings old, somethings new, and somethings blue you have: If your inner beauty doesn't shine through, all the expensive accouterments in the world won't make up for it. She looked elegant, comfortable, confident and most importantly, happy.
Hillary's so gosh darn thrilled -- Chris, too! -- that it's hard not to fall instantly in love with these two. From Hill's gorgeous gown to Chris' Ermenegildo Zegna suit, their handsome style took a backseat to their overall joy, as it should. Yes, they both looked stunning, but it's their love that steals the show. The dress and the suit are certainly a big part of the big day, but Hillary and Chris were right to let their smiles do the talking, not their clothes.
Congrats to the happy couple!
Did you watch the video? What do you think of her dress?
