Like most women, there are things I DON'T like about myself, and things that I do.
One of the things I've always liked is that I've had shiny, healthy hair.
Until I went and got "ombre" highlights over the summer, anyway.
I love the ombre color, and it requires almost no maintenance. But ever since I've gotten it, my hair has lost its shininess. It just looks dull and dry, and it doesn't help matters that I had it cut to just below my shoulders. It's at an awkward length that pretty much requires a straight iron or curling iron in order to look presentable.
Neither of those things are really good for my hair.
I need to do something, but I don't have a lot of time to waste on treatments that don't really work.So I'm putting the question to you:
What do you do to add moisture and shine back to your hair?
One thing I'll be trying is this:
Moroccanoil sent me this Intense Hydrating Mask and I can't wait to try it. If it has the fantastic results I'm looking for, I'll definitely let you know. I have high hopes, since I absolutely love the effect that Moroccanoil Styling Cream has on my tresses. (Tresses. Such a beauty magazine word. I'm using it ironically, FYI.)
But if I have to buy the product myself, I want to KNOW that it works before I shell out the dough.
Do you have a super secret product that restores your hair's beauteous luster? The only product I've always loved that does just that is the special conditioner that comes in a box of hair dye. That stuff is AMAZING -- but I don't want to buy an entire box of hair dye just to get it!
So tell me, ladies? What's your secret? DISH.

Unfortunately I dont have the issues you do. A good heavy conditioner left on my hair for 3ish minutes while I shave in the shower is all I need. I also use tresemme's curly mousse.. it has an extra moisturizer in it that leaves my hair with lots of nice looking curls.
I meant "fortunately" not unfortunately. oops.
Wen by Chaz Dean! I swear by it. I get it from QVC and I prefer the "fig" but there are many different formulas to choose from. If you go to the QVC message boards, you'll find lots of information and so many other devotees to these products.
From the inside, make sure you're eating enough protein and a fish oil supplement will do wonders for shiny hair and strong nails.
