'Project Runway All Stars' Sent the Wrong Designer Home

project runway all starsProject Runway All Stars premiered last night on Lifetime, and there were some new faces and some familiar ones. I totally miss Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, and that quiet yet bitchy Nina Garcia. A model I've never heard of (what?), Angela Lindvall, is now the host and the judges are people I'm not really familiar with, either, except for designer Isaac Mizrahi. The contestants, on the other hand, were like a little slice of home. Each of the 13 designers previously competed on a season of Project Runway and they're back for the ultimate title: Project Runway All Star winner.

Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? But the trophy won't be easy to get. After last night's episode, it seems we're gonna have a rough and tumble trip to the top. The challenge itself was classically ridiculous, but some of the contestants did not rise to the occasion and the judges made a big mistake.

The designers were given $100 to spend at a 99-cent store to make a fabulous outfit and there were some clear winners and losers, if you ask me. I don't care what the judges have to say, here are the three looks I thought warranted an "alvederzein."

First of all, there's Anthony William's look. His purple "dress" was too short and too cheap for me. Compared to some of the better designers, Williams' frock fell way short, literally and figuratively.

Then there was Gordana Gehlhausen's wrapping paper and bow disaster. That red tube thingy on top is hideous. Reminds of a St. Bernard.

And finally, Jerell Scott's bathmat flight attendant look did not fly with me. I think it looks well crafted, but I can't get over the materials. All I think of is mildew and slippery slime when I look at that dress.

Surprisingly, all three of these designers are moving on. Elisa Jimenez made the outfit the judges liked least, so away she goes. Not exactly fair, if you ask me, but fashion is cutthroat. Cutthroat, I say!

Did you watch Project Runway All Stars? Who did you think deserved to be sent packing?
