Scarlett Johansson Isn't Stylish Enough to Wear Sweatpants

scarlett johanssonLately, Scarlett Johansson isn't really topping my favorite actress list. Maybe it's the way she handled that nude photo "scandal" or that awkward "retro" hairstyle she rocked for the premiere of her new movie, We Bought a Zoo. OR perhaps it's her most recent comments on sweatpants that really take the cake in the annoying department.

Johansson told Style.com that she's not the kind of person who "just slops around in sweatpants." You know what? I take offense to that. I wear sweatpants all the time, and I don't think it makes me a "slop."

I understand where she's going with the comment. She likes to feel put together. I can respect that. But woman, COME ON. Save yourself some sanity! ScarJo has no idea what she's missing out on.

Just because you're wearing sweats doesn't mean you have to look like you've put zero effort into your ensemble.

First things first, not all sweats are large, massively over-sized ones like your grandfather wears to play squash on the weekends. There are loads of different styles and shapes perfect for every body type and fashion sense.

My favorite sweats are yoga pants from Victoria's Secret. When I want to wear them out of the house, I dress them up by wearing a cardigan, a scarf, and putting on a fresh face. This way when people look at me at the grocery store, their first thought isn't gee, this woman looked like she just rolled out of bed.

There's always the leggings option, as well. However, PLEASE do not wear them as pants a la Sofia Vergara and Pippa Middleton. When paired with a longer sweater that covers your tush, leggings can be a great way to stay cozy while running errands on the weekends.

So yes, there are comfy ways to rock sweats, and no, wearing them doesn't mean you're a slob. Perhaps if Scarlett eases in to the idea by slipping into some Pajama Jeans, it'll be an easier transition.

Do you love sweatpants as much as I do?
