Most women would agree that things start to slip a bit in their 40s and 50s. These are the decades when bikinis, short shorts, and microminis become relics of the past.

But most women aren't Sharon Stone.

The 53-year-old stunned the paparazzi on a recent walk.

Wearing short shorts and no makeup should have been a recipe for disaster.

Instead, it was entirely the opposite.

The Basic Instinct star looked HAWT.

Sensing an opportunity for ridicule, members of the paparazzi even took close-up photos of Stone's legs, but it was to no avail.

Even a zoomed-in look at her legs showed only perfection.

Heck, Sharon Stone looks better now than many women do in their 20s.

What do you think her secret is?

I'm guessing that regular, intense workouts and a low-calorie diet have a lot to do with it.

I'd suspect that expensive facials and skin creams also help.

But I'd bet that Stone's young son Quinn has as much to do with it as anything else. I believe that taking care of children keeps older adults younger. Certainly, the men and women I know in their 50s who have young children are, in general, far more active than their counterparts who don't.

Really, they have no choice. Being a good parent to small children means keeping up with them, unless a health problem is involved.

I'm sure some of you are thinking that plastic surgery must have been involved as well. The actress claimed last year in More magazine, though, that after botched lip injections following her divorce in 2004, she swore off plastic surgery.

And I have to admit that while youthful-looking, Stone does not have that stretched and plumped up look that so many of her colleagues are sporting these days. I wouldn't be surprised if she really hasn't had any work done.
