Quinn's New 'Skank' Look on 'Glee': Hot or Not?

Quinn Fabray: Before and AfterQuinn Fabray: Before and AfterOn the premiere of Glee, it appears none of the McKinley High kids had a life- and appearance-altering summer quite like Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron). Yep, Quinn came back to school with a whole new look! Over the summer, Quinn not only started dating a 40-year-old skateboarder and smoking cigarettes (which developed quickly into a new, deeper, smoker's voice), but she also joined a girl gang called the Skanks. She also dyed her hair hot pink and got a nose ring and a new "erotic tattoo" of Ryan Seacrest on the small of her back. Wow, that's one wild summer!

I'm pretty sure we're supposed to be really worried about Quinn's external changes. They're obviously representative of some internal unrest. So why can't I stop loving her new look so much better than her old look?

Not only did Quinn ditch her usual pastel-colored wardrobe and discover the joys of thick black eyeliner, she also quit the Glee Club and the Cheerios and is distancing herself from all her old friends. Rachel (Lea Michele) says she's sorry to see Quinn so "sad." The rebellious Quinn storyline is definitely setting us up for some big personal discovery.

But why can't personal discovery still mean Quinn gets a cool, pink-haired, modern Madonna circa "Lucky Star" look? Why can't we keep this new, more vibrant-feeling Quinn for the whole season? Why does fun, funky, eclectic style on the outside have to mean someone's a complete mess inside? Isn't that a little, well, obvious? And dang, she looks HOT. Not skanky but rad.

While I'm dying to see where Quinn's emotional arc is going to lead us this season on Glee (I thought she got over that whole teen pregnancy a little too easily ... ), it's too bad we're probably going to have to go back to the boring old Quinn look once she figures out what's ailing her.

Which Quinn style do you prefer -- old Cheerio Quinn or new pink-haired Quinn?
