Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Rocks a Neutral Dress, and So Can You!

Rosie Huntington-WhiteleyAt Michael Kors' runway show during New York Fashion Week, Transformers star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was a standout in a simple neutral sheath dress, boots, and clutch.

A minimal neutral dress is an easy-peasy way to look uber-chic this season -- and you don't have to go all-neutral as Rosie did.

In fact, I'd discourage it unless you're trying to make a statement, like, "I'm so beautiful that I can wear all neutrals without looking washed out."

Not that Rosie was making that statement, or anything.

Um. ANYWAY.

I've got some real-life ways for you to rock this look ...

AND some real-life neutral dresses you can actually afford ...

... after the jump!

I immediately think of Blumarine's fall fashion show when it comes to making neutrals work in real life ...

Blumarine

Simple neutral dress. Black boots, purse, and accessories. BAM. You look mah-velous.

You can also wear a neutral sheath with a black blazer (or trendy black cape) and look stunning. The more adventurous this season are pairing neutral dresses with bold primary colors. Surprisingly, it works!

As for neutral dresses that meet your budgetary constraints ...

AdamThis khaki shift (Adam, $177 on sale) is a casual way to get Rosie's look.

AthletaThis sweater dress (Athleta, $118) would look fab with black tights and boots -- and it's a low-cost alternative to the Blumarine dress.

Macy'sOn a budget? You can't beat this Evan Piccone Sheath (Macy's, $99 on sale).

Macy'sI'm also crazy about this Calvin Klein sheath (Macy's, $99).

NordstromNeed a little waist definition? Check out this Tahari sheath (Nordstrom, $118), which has gotten great customer reviews.

Do you have a neutral dress? Do you like the look?
