Beauty & Style 10

J.CrewStill trying to figure out how to update your fall wardrobe?

These shots should give you some great ideas.

Take this "look we love" from J.Crew, for example.

A red jacket, striped oxford, and black leggings (I'd probably personally opt for skinny pants or bootcut trousers)?

I. Die.

You would look tres chic in this outfit, not to mention the other looks I'm about to show you.

Read on!

Here's another look from J.Crew's Looks We Love feature. This season, don't be afraid to pair your neutrals with an eye-catching skirt or blouse. I'm seeing stylists do this over and over and over again right now, and it's totally current. Love the leopard print flats, too.

J.CrewHere, we have the statement coat in all its glory. I've already written about the importance of owning a statement coat this season. This just underscores my belief that IT'S HOT.

J.CrewSo you want to wear the bright pants trend, but you don't really know how to do it? Again, opt for neutrals and you'll look utterly modern. Love this look.

I've seen enough photos now to decide that this is truly the best way to wear this season's capes and ponchos -- with leggings and flat riding boots. Gorgeous.

BebeAnd finally, I'm ending with a jolt from *gasp* Bebe's fall catalog. I will always be a fan of bare legs with a high heeled boot, and I'm dying to find a little red scarf to knot at my neck under my black coats. AWESOME!

Which look will you wear this season?

The first one translates the 80s way too literally for me. I like your idea of skinny or slim boot cuts better. Love the statement coat--must have one somehow. The neutral sweater with the red pants is awesome. Very wearable for the average human life and figure. That's a look I will work. LOVE IT. If I do go with a cape, it will be with skinny pants. But, I think the cape is a hard look to pull off if you weigh more than 100 lbs. Not flattering if you've got boobs and any other fluff.

Most of these are not flattering if you have any curves...

I do not get skinny jeans or thin pants...they only look good on super skinny legs.

I'll pass. . . . .I'm a little too fat for these "trends" and really don't want to look like the super nanny

I like the first look, but I don't really care for skinny jeans. The others aren't very appealing.

As much as I love to put on a pair of boots, fall wear has to wait for a while here. Still in the 90s. LOL. Really like the yellow coat and red pants.

I love the 3rd, 4th and 5th looks. So cute.  I was just talking to my husband about how awesome JCrews cashmere is.

I saw a plus-size model in a cape (she looked to be about a 14-16) remember I'm talking about a MODEL) and she looked FANTASTIC. I was surprised!  I think the skinny pants are great to go under this season's drapey tops, no matter what your size.

Sorry, I don't do the bare legs with boots look.  I think it looks stupid, and if it's cool enough to wear boots in the first place why would you not wear tights with them?  The only thing that looks more stupid is boots with a sundress.  Why, in the name of all that is good and holy?  Why?

As for the skinny pant/drapey top combo, that only looks good on thin women.  It makes curvy women look even bigger, or pregnant, and who needs THAT if you're not pregnant?
