Lea Michele Rocks This Fall Fashion Must-Have

lea micheleI love fall. Mostly because I adore pumpkin everything, and come September, it's in all things imaginable, from lattes to ice cream. But I also love the season because of its must-have colors. Maroon and mauve are two shades that complement my skin tone wonderfully, if I do say so myself, and also happen to be totally "in," crowding the storefront windows up and down Fifth Avenue.

Seeing Glee's Lea Michele wearing this mauve J. Mendel dress so well at the FOX Fall-Eco Casino Party in California has me super excited to snag some autumn fashion of my own. I adore how she kept the accessories minimal -- the dress is such a standout piece on its own! And those pointed-toe shoes? I want!

Her look is so warm and inviting, don't you think? It definitely makes me stoked for fall shopping. Of course, warm tones are first on our must-have-this-season list. Check out 5 other fashion necessities for fall:

1. Riding boots: Whether you're into a plain brown leather boot with a small wedged heel or something more edgy, there's a riding boot this season for every type of fashionista. Pair structured boots with fitted jeans and a button-down blouse for an easy, comfortable daytime look.

2. Pashminas: Pashmina scarves are the quintessential fall accessory. I love them because they are super lightweight and are an easy way to spruce up a blah outfit. Not to mention, it's easier to commit to a lower-priced scarf than an expensive new sweater!

3. Faux fur: It took a while for this one to grow on me. But after seeing this faux fur vest at Kohl's last weekend, I was sold. Pair a vest like that with skinny jeans and a long-sleeve white Henley and you're in business!

4. A great blazer: Blazers are flattering on every size and shape. A classic khaki or black blazer is a smart buy now that the temperatures are getting cooler. And since you'll wear it all the time (trust me!), allow yourself to splurge a little on the price for better quality.

5. Nails to match: There is nothing better than rewarding yourself with a brand new bottle of fancy schmancy nail polish every once in a while, and a season change is the perfect opportunity! Grays, browns, and greens are great hues for fall. Personally, I can't get enough of OPI's touring America collection -- the colors are flirty, fun, and suited to last you all the way 'til spring.
