Christina Hendricks in Black and White: How to Get the Look

Christina HendricksOne of the simplest ways to look stylish this season without breaking the bank is to go with an elegant black and white look. It was big on Ralph Lauren's fall runway, and celebrities from Christina Hendricks (pictured here at Self magazine's Women Doing Good event) to Michelle Monaghan to Kirsten Dunst have adopted the trend this season as well.

Christina looks amazing here (from the neck down, anyway). This is a very slenderizing look on her voluptuous frame. I'm now determined to add a winter white pencil skirt to my fall wardrobe -- and I've found one.

One of the simplest ways to look stylish this season without breaking the bank is to go with a simple black and white look. It was big on Ralph Lauren's fall runway, and plenty of other designers have adopted the look this season as well.

White House Black Market
To get the look for less, head over to your nearest White House Black Market, which permanently specializes in the black and white look. Here's my pencil skirt, available for $78.

White House Black MarketI'm also a fan of this look from White House Black Market's fall catalog -- all black with a black and white-striped top. The leopard-print belt is a nice touch to break things up, too.

White House Black MarketI've already bought a drapey cardigan that's almost identical to this Striped Draped Coverup (White House Black Market, $88), and it's my favorite thing in my closet right now. I get compliments every time I wear it! LOVE this look.

White House Black MarketI'm crazy about this look. With opaque stockings, this Windowpane Sheath Dress (White House Black Market, $168) is all about fall and winter. Without stockings, it's a great spring/summer look. WIN.

I love these looks because they're easy to replicate. And I've been hearing some rumblings from some of you that heavier women don't look good in skinny pants -- I beg to differ. I've seen plenty of more curvaceous women wearing skinny pants under flowy cardigans or even, YES. CAPES. And they look fantastic. With this season's flowy, drapey tops, I really think skinny pants or jeans are going to be the way for most of us to go. Just make sure your butt's covered, please!

What do you think of the black and white trend?
