Lovers of tights and even (GASP) sheer pantyhose, rejoice!
Hosiery is HUGE this fall, from patterned to colored to sheer to opaque.
It's one of the cheapest ways to update your wardrobe and one of the easiest ways to turn a drab outfit into a showstopper.
Check out these purple tights on this Saks Fifth Avenue model, for example.
She'd look fine with a bare leg or black tights, but the purple tights really take it up a notch.

Here's another take on the colored tights trend, this time from Bebe's fall catalog.
Patterned tights are turning up everywhere (this particular photo is from Bloomingdale's), and they're a great way to turn up the volume on a simple black dress or skirt.
Keep your fall dresses current with black tights and a sharp pair of black booties. I love this look from the Saks Fifth Avenue catalog!
Another option is to go for a monochromatic look. This gray on gray on gray outfit from Nordstrom's September catalog is very chic.
Don't be afraid to wear black pantyhose this season (this look is also from Nordstrom's catalog). Hosiery is turning up everywhere, particularly in black -- and I'm pretty sure Kate Middleton has something to do with it!
Finally, another patterned look from the Nordstrom catalog, this time to dress up a pair of shorts. It's a great way to show off your quirky side.
What do you think of these looks for fall?

These are cool. Except I'm short so i'd probaby have to wear nothing but heels (or anything with a heel) with them.
One question: how in the world do you pull off open-toe/peep-toe with opaque tights!?!?
I'm glad hosiery is back in. I wear it whether it's in or out, but anything in style is easier to find and you can usually get greater variety and better prices.
I only wear tights when I absolutely have to.
I LOVE this. I love colored tights/pants. They are so much fun.
HeartCharmMama: In answer to your question...you don't. :-) I have no idea why they pictured the model in the purple tights in open-toe shoes! That's, like, fashion no-no numero uno.
I looooove tights. Especially my black tights. I get a ton of wear out of them in the winter time.
I don't wear tights.
I LOVE the first picture, with the purple tights. I want that whole outfit (minus the open-toed shoes)! Love.
Actually, you CAN wear tights with open toe shoes. I see it done all the time by very fashionable women. :) Use your gut instinct-- if it doesn't bother you to look at it, it's probably okay.
These are nice pics. I like them. Thanks.
