British superstar Cheryl Cole hasn't exactly had her best year ever.
After being fired from X Factor, reportedly because of her accent, which some said was difficult to understand, Cole did what many women do in times of trouble ...
She radically changed her hairstyle.
Once a ubiquitous long-haired brunette, Cheryl emerged for her 28th birthday with new, golden locks and a radical bob, one that we at The Stir can't stop talking about.
Sure we've all seen asymmetrical bobs before -- but rarely have I seen one quite so ... long in the front.
And I can't decide if I like it.
What about you?
You can check out another angle of the 'do -- and see a 'before' pic -- here.
I definitely love the color on Cheryl -- it makes her a standout, and now that I see her with blonde hair, I think it's safe to say that her brown hair was doing nothing for her.
The bob looks good on her, too, but I just wonder if that extreme front length takes away from the overall effect. It's so very long that it takes attention away from everything else. I just can't stop staring at that long hank of hair in the front.
At any rate, I hope the radical change helps Cheryl move on from the embarrassment of getting publicly sacked.
What do you think of her bob? Love it or loathe it?

I LOVE it. It looks great on her!
Like the color but not the cut. I don't think that long chunk in the front is flattering. It looks too contrived. What's wrong with her accent?
Same, madamekatekate. Though seeing her before picture, I think she looked better before.
I don't normally like the "short in back, long in front" look but I have to say, she's gorgeous.
This isn't about the hairstyle, but that 2 previous commenters didn't know who she is. I don't know who she is either.
I was thumbing through a People magazine and an US Weekly yesterday at the doctor's office. I didn't have any idea who at least half of the "celebrities" were. Either I'm completely out of touch with the world of entertainment, or it doesn't take much to get your picture in the celebrity magazines any more.
After looking at the side-by-side comparison of before and after hair, I say I still think she looks better with long curly brown hair.
oh i disagree! i love the cut, but hate the color. that rich brown suits her better. and those eyelashes in the after pic???? oy vey.
Cute! I have a similar hairstyle - not quite as long in the front, but still significantly longer than the back.
I'm not sure. Usually I like that sort of textured funky bob look, but I think that one piece is too prominent. Tinypossum has the right word - contrived. Like the stylist was trying specifically to go out of bounds to start a trend.
