I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but summer's almost over, ladies. I'm sorry, but it's true. Say goodbye to the easy breezy clothes of the warm months -- flip-flops, tanks, airy dresses -- and hello to the cooler months' more formal wear -- sweaters, boots, peacoats. I know, I don't like it either.
But it isn't all that bad. Especially this fall when the fashion forecast isn't just really cute, it's wearable (for everyone). Come on, girls, we'll get through this together.

Polka dots. Time to put away your beloved Breton striped shirts (not really) in order to make room for fall's number one trend: Polka dots. Yes, that print you're accustomed to dressing your toddler in is in for moms, too. The best way to wear them is on a sheer blouse or silky, flouncy dress. I'm a huge fan of this TBA Polka Dot Dress from Asos ($91.48). Throw on a blazer and some black tights -- very Alexa Chung.

Chunky chains. No more of this girly, dainty pendant crap. This season, it's all about big and bulky necklaces. And the more you pile on, the better. Try this Fishnet Necklace from J.Crew ($78). Can't go wrong with gold.

Bows. Yes, that feminine knot is all the rage this fall -- but, thankfully, not on your head, as a detail on your clothing. Try finding a pair of shoes with bow detailing, or snag this Milly Midnight Metallic Bow Dress for $380 -- or rent it from Rent the Runway for $50!

Fur. No, not real fur, the luxurious, sumptuous faux kind, of course. Typically I'm not into clothes from Victoria's Secret, but this Faux-Fur-Trim Cape ($158) is an absolute must (for me).

Bright pants. Take a little bit of the summer with you this fall with a pair of bright pants. Since color-blocking is all the rage these days, try pairing a plain black or white shirt with whatever color you like best. I'm into these BDG High Rise Cigarette Skinnies from Urban Outfiiters ($58). Of course without the knotted top.

Suzanne, I'm right there with you (except I am not pregnant! Congratulations and best of luck to you both!). If you get cold, you can put on a sweater. If you get hot, however, there is only so much you can take off if you are going to be seen! Give me fall/winter any day!
I do like that cape ... I was given a cashmere swing coat when I was pregnant, which I still wear! The swing shape was very flattering and comfortable.
I am so ready for fall! I am not a fan of summer at all. I am sick of the 115 degree weather, my makeup melting off of my face and the constant sweat from freaking everywhere! I miss the chilly nights, layering cute sweaters, and the leaves changing color. Fall is my favorite season of the year!
I wish summer never ended...I *love* it, even the crazy humidity. Easy sundress and flipflops, even a quick t-shirt and yoga pants....ahhh
*BUT* these clothes are quite cute...even though I don't know that I can carry off those painted-on jeans (I thought "skinny" jeans were mostly for teenagers?). Give it to me in a bootcut and I'm good to go. Love the blazer/dress combo...but no big bows on my clothes for me. I even tear off those stupid ones they put on a lot of bras...you know where I'm saying, they always stick a bow on the straps or right between your boobs...weird.
Those pants look like a 12 year old is wearing them. I wonder if bright pants in any other cut but skinny will look as trendy. I love the clothes, hate the necklace. Chunky jewelry seems to just get caught on everything (snag sweaters, get stuck in my girls' hair, etc.)
Fall here doesn't really mean cold for me. So I will be in my flipflops and summer attire for a bit longer!! Plus I would never wear any of that YUCK!!
I am so ready for fall, love being able to cover my arms!
However, the only thing from this list I would consider is the necklace.
