5 Beauty Secrets From Older Celebs Who Look Amazingly Youthful

cate blanchettAging is a fact of life; if you're not getting older, you know, you're dead. And that's not really that fun. So instead of worrying about our deepening wrinkles, our thinning hair, and that damn mole that keeps sprouting a tuft or two every few weeks, let's work with what we've got. No use in trying to turn back the clock, no can do there, but perhaps if we listen to beauty advice from some of the most beautiful women over 40 on how they keep their youthful glow, maybe, just maybe, we too can feel and/or look like we're 22 again. Or 32. Or just a few years younger than we are now. Whatever. We'll take what we can get.

Without further ado, here are 5 tips from stars like Cate Blanchett, Demi Moore, Julianne Moore, and ... more!

Forty-two-year-old Cate Blanchett, whose complexion dame Judi Dench compared to that of a white peach, told Marie Claire that she advises against tanning, no matter how uncool that may seem.

My mum stayed out of the sun and moisturized — she set a good example. I tried to tan when I was 14, because it was deeply uncool to be this pale. But I just burned and peeled, so what was the point? I even carried a parasol for a while. A bit pretentious in Australia — although it's common in Asia.

Demi Moore may be turning 50 at the end of 2012, but she looks like she's about half her age. She told Marie Claire:

I moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. No matter how late it is, when I get home, I take the time to clean and moisturize my face. I'm a big believer in that if you focus on good skin care, you really won't need a lot of makeup.

Julianne Moore, pretty much the most gorgeous woman on the planet, attributes her youthful appearance to controlled movements. She explained to Babble:

Yoga. It’s pretty much the only thing I do. It gives me time to just zone out.

Courteney Cox, 47, extols the virtues of a good night's sleep in her column on xoJane.com:

I have a really hard time sleeping but one thing that helps, besides my night guard, are ... earplugs. You don't have to stick them in your ear, just mold them around it. I don't go anywhere without these.

She's 53, but Michelle Pfeiffer is close to physically perfect. Good genes and an extremely no-frills routine are her secrets:

I can go months, years without a mani. I never pluck my eyebrows. The make-up artists shape them only when I am doing publicity. I don’t get my hair cut between films, just when I work and I have to. As far as body maintenance goes, I do eat well and I exercise. I go at it hardcore in my gym, but that’s it.

What do you think of these tips, and what are your secrets?
