I Went Ombre. Would You?

OmbreA few months ago, I told you about the ombre hair coloring trend, popularized recently by celebs like Rachel Bilson and Drew Barrymore. Ombre is when your hair starts dark at the roots and gradually becomes lighter until it's blonde (or nearly blonde) at the ends.

I admitted that I was dying to try it myself and your reactions were mixed -- about half of you were for it and half against.

Well, after seeing some of the stylists with the look at Salon Nfuse here in Nashville, I took the plunge WENT OMBRE.

See the results after the jump!

Here I am, immediately after getting my hair "OMBRED." (I totally made up that word.) It took a little under three hours -- I got my hair trimmed and layered, had my roots touched up, and got the ombre color added with foils. But the whole thing was pretty easy.

I think it's a really fun look for summer (I might tone it down a little when it gets cold) and I love it because it's very low-maintenance -- no root touch-up required!

Ombre is the hot trend in Nashville hair right now, but it hasn't yet hit the mainstream public, so now was a good time to do it. Salon Nfuse owner Stephanie Trail says some natural blondes are even coming in and having their roots DARKENED in order to get the ombre look!

So, what do you think of my newly ombre hair? Would you try this trend?

I think it looks like you're too lazy to dye your roots..lol..but to each his own I guess.

That looks really beautiful on you. :-) I've never dyed my hair and don't plan to start anytime soon cuz I'm broke LOL When I start going gray, though, IT'S ON. I will dig pennies out of the sofa to color my hair when that day comes!

It looks great on you but not sure if it is my style. Here I had thought (hoped) Guilianna Rancic was knocked up hence not dying the roots but I guess it's a trend.

LOVE it. I have always wanted to play with my hair color but my hair is naturally black and my hair stylist says that to dye it would involve stripping the color which will really damage it. So, unfortunately, I have never dyed my hair.

You are a very beautiful woman, but I think that the hair color is not attractive.  It makes the ends of your hair look damaged and over processed.  I think you should either go blonde or go brunette but this looks bad. Sorry.

I think it looks really cute!

From the description I was prepared to hate it but I'm super shocked at how pretty it looks! I love it on you, Im not sure how it would look on me, but it would be nice to not have to touch up my roots all the time!

I don't know how I feel about this look.  I love your cut though.  It really makes me feel like you should get a touch up and when I see it on celebs I wonder why they didn't get their hair fixed since they can obviously afford to.

Personally, I detest it nearly as much as the rooster-torture-death feathers that people are putting in their hair. It looks lazy, unkempt, and trashy, and it brings to mind 1980s corner whores and methed-out carny wives every time I see it. Ugh. (No offense to drug-free carny wives!)
