This Woman Has 1,200 Pairs of Shoes (VIDEO)

LouboutinsI have a friend who loves shoes.

She loves them so much, she thinks she has about 100 pairs that she's collected over the years.

Decadent? Yes.

But she's got nothing on professional poker player Beth Shak, who has amassed more than 1,200 pairs of shoes -- and 700 pairs of them are Louboutins!

The Today show recently featured Beth and her shoe closet.

Check out the video after the jump, then tell me what you think of Beth's shoe addiction!

Whoa.

Beth has three kids, including a 16-year-old daughter. Fortunately, she doesn't have to worry about her daughter sneaking her shoes when she's not looking. Beth wears a size seven and her daughter wears a size eight.

According to Today, published reports estimate that Beth's shoe collection cost around $500,000.

I think it's time to learn how to play poker!

Be sure and watch the end of the video, when the Today show hosts disclose how many pairs of shoes they own -- and Al Roker and Matt Lauer both admit to having an accessory fetish of their own.

So what do you think of Beth Shak's shoe collection? Too extravagant? Or her money, her business?

That is ridiculous!  If she can truly afford to pamper herself like that though...more power to her.  Personally, I have never been one of those women who swoons over shoes.  In fact, I just cleared a few pairs out before reading this article.  So, as it stands now, I have:

2 pairs of sandals

1 pair of athletic shoes

1 pair of "fancy" flip flops

2 pairs of vintage-style platforms (that I never even wear)

If she's not going into debt for it and is otherwise managing her finances well...good for her. Heck, if I had that much disposable income, I'd have a closet full of designer jeans. Totally.

I'm not judging her-- I like shoes (and accessories) too...but thinking about the number 1,200 pairs..

Wow. (If you have *that* many, how can you truly appreciate them?)

It would be a much cooler legacy to teach your kids how to give to charity and let others experience a SINGLE pair of shoes that were in good working condition: http://www.soles4souls.org/

If she really, truly has an addiction to shoes, then I feel very sorry for her . Addiction takes many shapes and forms and is equally debilitating across the board . Even if she can afford the shoes, it is NOT okay for her to be enabled to continue buying them and further her addiction .

However - if she is not really suffering from an addiction, then that goes without saying that I'm pretty disgusted with her . All that money could do a lot of good in this world . My fiance and I buy five pairs of shoes every month and send them to Haiti and Jamaica, where kids are lucky to have even ONE pair of shoes . If she loves shoes so much, she could give them to people who really need them instead of spitting in their faces .

Her money, her business. We all have things we like to collect and her collection just happen to be shoes. She can support her habit and it is not hurting anyone.

I must admit, I would totally love to have a closet like that. I am working on it...one day...one fine day.

How would you decide what ones to where?!  I honestly don't buy as many shoes as I did before I was a mom and I usually clean them out fairly regularly - don't wear for a year toss it - so sadly I probably have 15 in my closet right now.  Now purses is another story I would be the crazy old lady that lived in her purses.  haha

OOOOH, I LOVE LOVE the one in the picture. I want a pair. I have many pairs, but not that many, I love shoes like that

FYI- there is no such thing as "fancy flip flops" if something goes between your toe, its casual.

I loved L1558's comment, right on!
