The Real Kim Kardashian Is Prettier Than We Realize (PHOTO)

kim kardashian without makeupYou know how some celebs are just so done up all the time or are so plasticized with cosmetic surgery that they start to resemble the Madame Tussauds' wax replica version of themselves? Yeah, sometimes I think Kim Kardashian falls in that category. Don't get me wrong; I think she's stunning. I adore that as a petite, curvaceous brunette, she's set a whole new standard of drop dead gorgeous in Hollywood. But, I gotta say, sometimes that "war paint" as she calls it is just TOO MUCH! Too harsh.

Thank goodness for sneaky paparazzi who caught the reality star on her way to a perfume commercial shoot in L.A. last week. She was absolutely bare-faced, and I don't think I've ever seen her looking prettier! Also, anyone else notice she looks a lot more like her sister Kourtney without all that face lacquer?!? Which is funny, because the same is true for my sister and me. Maybe there's something to that. Maybe the makeup is a way to make her look even more distinctive. Huh.

Kim's been snapped sans makeup in the past, but usually later in the day, after a workout (like the photo above), when anyone would look a wee bit haggard. The latest peek was taken first thing in the a.m., and I swear, while we know her teen years are long gone, I could see her as a "Noxema Girl" or stealing Vanessa Hudgens' job with Neutrogena. She just looks so fresh-faced, clean, and simply beautiful.

It seems like she realizes this when she gives quotes like:

Makeup is fun, but it's just another accessory. I'm happy with myself, and this is who I am. As much as it's fun to glam up, the most important thing is to be comfortable in your own skin -- with or without makeup.

But then, an occasion like this one when she's spotted bare-faced is super-rare. So what's up with that? I'm sure it has a lot to do with the glam image she's trying to portray. And I get that. It's very Elizabeth Taylor/Marilyn Monroe/Gwen Stefani of her. In other words, it's showbiz. But if she really wanted to practice what she preaches, I think she'd do well to tone it down with the intense black cat eyeliner and souped-up lined pout from time to time. Not only does this glowy, youthful, softer look suit her, but it's really refreshing for the fans to see, too.

What do you think about Kim sans makeup?
