A Gucci Guide to Fall Trends

Neiman MarcusNow that designers are beginning to roll out their fall/winter collections, it's a good time to take a look at the trends and start thinking about what you want your wardrobe to look like this upcoming season.

Neiman Marcus just unveiled its Gucci collection and the looks give a good idea of what will be hot in the coming months.

This rust color, for example, is going to be big, along with its color companion, red.

Sure you may not be able to afford this particular $1795 dress, but keep the look in mind when you go shopping for more affordable gear.

Neiman MarcusThe seventies style is going to be BIG if Gucci has anything to do with it. You don't have to go the whole hog and dress like a pimped up mac daddy from the disco era, but you can incorporate some of the look into your wardrobe. A fly seventies hat or a "self-scarf shirt" with a collar you can tie yourself can go a long way toward creating seventies style. The total amount for this particular look, by the way, not counting hat and other accessories: $5,445.

Neiman MarcusGood news for those of you who incorporated fur (or faux fur) into your wardrobe last year -- It's back and bigger than ever. This particular fur jacket, in case you're interested, is $12,700 at Neiman Marcus.

Skinny pants are also back, and a classic all-black look is always stylish. I do recommend wearing something that covers your bum, though, if you want to rock those pants. Total price for this Gucci jacket, turtleneck and pants: $6,135 at Neiman Marcus.

Neiman MarcusFinally, something I'm hoping won't be repeated anywhere else. The gaucho pant. NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Gucci's gauchos (say that three times fast) will set you back a cool $850 at Neimans. The good news: boots are back as well, so dust off your pair and get them ready for fall!
