Maybe it is on your favorite, go-to white button-down, the one that goes with everything. Or perhaps it is on that great long tunic t-shirt that looks awesome with your skinny jeans. It is definitely on your husband's undershirts. Yup, I'm talking the yellow armpit stain. Some are a faint tinge, some are as yellow as a sunflower, others are yellow and, sadly, crunchy. It is a part of wardrobe life, a part of what happens when you wear that beloved white shirt a few too many times.
Don't be ashamed, it happens to all of us. But it doesn't have to! There are some tricks to get those yellow beacons of old sweat out of there as well as how to not let them creep into your drawers to begin with!
First off, switch what you are rolling under your arms every morning. If you are using an antiperspirant, switch to a deodorant. Why? Well, the bacteria in your drippage mixes with the aluminum in antiperspirants, which causes the majority of yellow stains. Most deodorants don't have aluminum, so that solves the main cause.
But what to do if you have existing stains on your favorite t-shirt from the U2 concert back in 1998? Well, that's tough, but there are some tricks you can try. First, mix up a three-part formula of baking soda, peroxide and water -- you need about 1/4 cup of each one. Rub it onto your shirt, even use a toothbrush to really get it into the fabric and then let it sit for 30 minutes. Then wash it as usual, but let it air dry as if the stain is still there, it will just set the stain more.
Others swear by spraying a mixture of vinegar and water onto the stain and still others say soaking the garment for a few days (yes, like 48 hours or so) in Oxyclean will get rid of the yellow underam icks.
If those remedies don't work, well, then it is time to part ways. Really. Just bid adieu to that shirt, yellow underarms and all. You'll always have the memories.

If you switch from antiperspirant to deodorant you might avoid the stains but you're going to be walking around with huge wet patches under your pits instead. I'd rather deal with occasional stains than walk around looking nasty all the time.
Keep up on it as well... I always spray down my t-shirts with a vinegar/water solution before putting them into the wash. Same with any stains, really.
Lemon juice then sun it out!!!!! It's like magic!
Wow, these are really good tips everyone! Thanks!
