Natori announced today that it will partner with Target to offer sleepwear in the $9.99 to $34.99 price range.
The sleepwear will be available in October.
I'm pretty excited about this news -- my favorite pieces by far from the Calypso St. Barth for Target collaboration were the chemises. Now that it's hot outside, I've been wearing them just about every night.
It only makes sense the sleepwear could be a design collaboration success -- you can get away with cheaper, flimsier fabric and still end up with cute, comfortable sleepwear. It's harder to do that with regular clothing.
Want to see more of my favorites from Natori? They should give you at least a loose idea of what to expect at Target this fall.

Most of these chemises retail for between $200 and $350. I'm hoping for a Target version of this black one ...

But I also love the design of this short caftan.
And the color of this chemise is gorgeous!

I guess we won't be seeing any couture Natori caftans at Target -- this one is selling for $2,200!
I have high-ish hopes for this new Target line and can't wait to see it for myself in October.
However, I have to admit that my real obsession with this story stems from designer Josie Natori's video announcment of the partnership.
Where in God's name did she get that necklace?! And what made her think it was a good idea to wear it for the Target/Natori announcement? All I could think of while she was talking was ...
NECKLACE ...
NECKLACE ...
WHO MADE THAT NECKLACE ...
What do you think of the necklace ... I mean, the Natori for Target design collaboration announcement?

Never mind the necklace, did you see how loooooong her neck is!??
I love the background in the photo.
Huh. I was going to say I always thought a chemise was a short, silky top but then looked it up online and, sure enough, it can be a shift as well. You are the fashion expert as usual! And the necklace is godawful.
