They are popping up everywhere, and no, I'm not talking cicadas here. I'm talking the maxi dress. So cute, so easy -- just pop it on and you're good to go. But have you noticed many of them are strapless? Have little spaghetti straps? Basically, wardrobe malfunctions waiting to happen, ladies ... especially risky for us moms.
Say you're wearing one of those tube-top maxi dresses, reach up to grab Junior from the monkey bars as your dress slides down, and -- boing! -- a NSFW, er, NSFP (not safe for park) moment that would make Janet Jackson's Super Bowl incident look PG-13.
So what's a mom to do? Never fear. We have some fabu maxi dresses that protect your boobs so you don't end up looking like one.

First up, this one allows you to rock the whole nautical stripe trend that is hot right now. Notice the neckline -- perfect for moms as it prevents the "bend-over peek-a-boo" we all try to avoid with some that are too low-cut. You can wear a regular bra with the Enza Costa Sleeveless Pocket Dress, but it gets bonus points because, as the name suggests, it has pockets! It's $286 from Shopbop.

I love this one from Piperlime, because the neckline is open but not too revealing. And it covers your arms just a tad more than a tank-style sleeveless dress, always appreciated, I say. The Velvet from Graham & Spencer dress is $130, and remember, the cool dark teal color makes even the palest mama look tan.

For you mamas-to-be or uber-new moms, grab this sleeveless maxi dress from Liz Lange for Target. Check out the top -- nice full coverage of the girls, you can easily wear your normal bra or nursing bra with it. What's even better? The $34.99 price. Almost makes me want to get pregnant just so I can wear it ... almost.

This may be one of my fave dresses I've seen in a long time. From J.Crew for $245, the Lemlem Adama dress is not quite a maxi, but its loose cut and longish silhouette fool you -- great for moms who don't want to trip on longer hems running after the kiddos. The kimono sleeves and v-neck add some glam, while keeping you covered up.

This Juicy Couture tie-front maxi comes in black, too, which is a bonus for hiding stains, but its real gift to us is the built-in bra! No risk in straps showing, sliding, or what not. The tie-front cinches you right where you are the smallest, which makes you look super tiny, while the flowing skirt hides any tummy pooches. A seriously close-to-perfect summer dress for any mom, snag it from Bloomingdale's for $158.
Will you be wearing a maxi dress this summer?
