Kate Hudson Spends Pregnancy in Very High Heels: Would You?

Splash NewsKate Hudson is certainly not the first pregnant celebrity to totter around in very high heels, and I'm sure she won't be the last ...

But is it really a good idea, Kate?

I say this as a wearer of extremely high heels- I live in terror of falling in them, I see photos of celebrities falling in them all the time, and personally, I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever wear them when pregnant. Ever. Are we clear?

But I know that the popular thing is to say, "If it makes Kate happy, then she should wear extremely high heels when she's pregnant! Because whatever makes Kate happy is good! So very good! Let Kate rock those skyscraper heels if she finds her bliss in them!"

So where do you stand on this issue?

Sound off in the comments ...

The same scenario sparked a wide range of opinions a couple of months ago, when I posted a photo of a very pregnant Rachel Zoe in sky-high heels.

Here's what a few of you had to say then:

I personally would never take that risk.  Pregnancy with all the shifting weight and loose ligaments.

as long as the mama is comfortable doing it there is no reason not to. I totally rocked 3-4 inch heels through the end of my pregnancy.

When did women stop caring about the safety of the precious baby they are carrying? With heels that high,a woman could easily fall and hurt or even cause the death of the unborn. The baby could even be deformed. Don't women think about the consequences of their actions anymore?

Meh. I wore stilletoes the entire time I was pregnant with my now 4 year old son. I'm more comfortable in them and definitely less clumbsy as I have been wearing that style of shoe for 14 years.

As long as she's willing to take responsibility for it should she fall and hurt herself and/or her baby. I think it's foolish, self-centered and vain-wouldn't be me.

Although the trend right now is to agree with everyone and everything and say it's their own choice and that alone makes it totally acceptable, I do think it's OKAY to stand up and say something is just plain wrong -- and I think that wearing enormously high platform stilettos, while not a serious offense, is probably ... the wrong choice when a woman is pregnant.

Put it this way: I know I'd be pissed if I saw a photo of my mom wearing them when she was pregnant with me.

But I'm sure there are those of you out there who disagree. Tell me all about it in the comments. Go on. I can take it!
