Is Royal Wedding Coverage Boring You?

FlickrUnder the strain of all this royal wedding coverage, how are you holding up?

I haven't covered Kate and William all THAT much here on She's Still Got It, but I've heard from some of you anyway, complaining, as one commenter did, that "... the majority of Americans don't give a rat's ass about William and Kate OR who designed her dress."

Well, as it turns out, NBC reportedly agrees with you.

Page Six is reporting that NBC is scaling back its royal wedding coverage. Several pretaped segments have been scrapped and television personalities will be heading to London later than previously scheduled. According to Page Six's source:

"The US public's interest was not what they thought," sniped an NBC insider. "Kate and Prince William are both really boring."

Bwah ha ha ha ha ha! Ahem. Sorry.

Page Six goes on to report that at least publicly, NBC disagrees with this anonymous source.

A rep for NBC denied the story, saying in a statement: "This could not be more false -- NBC News has the most aggressive and comprehensive coverage of the royal wedding, as you will see when you tune in to 'Today' starting Friday at 4 a.m. to 'Dateline' at 9 p.m. and on MSNBC, Telemundo, etc."

I'm inclined to believe that coverage probably has been scaled back at least a little bit. After all, there's only so much you can say about the royal couple. Kate's beautiful and seemingly squeaky clean and so is William. I'm sure they'll both look fabulous on their wedding day and there will be plenty of pomp and circumstance before, during, and after the ceremony. But it's true. They are a little bit ... boring.

But now I'm wondering what you think about all this royal wedding media hype. Are you sick of it, or do you, like me, plan to be up at 4 a.m. on April 29 to watch the big event unfold?

No. I can't wait. I get so into this kind of thing. I can't wait to sit and watch it all.

I will watch the wedding, but not at 4am. DVR it and watch it later. I will read about it if I happen upon it, otherwise I am not purposely seeking out articles about them and their wedding.

Bored stiff already I'm afraid!! I'm proud to be English and all that... but really, it's just a wedding and we don't need it rammed down our throats, they're just two people, one of whom just happens to be part of the royal family! No interest at all...

I'm so sick of hearing about it!

I think if all the hype had started like this week it would have been great, but seriously its been all over every site for over a month, so that's why it's getting on my nerves.

I love weddings and even enjoy hearing about the royal family, but enough is enough. Ill watch the wedding on DVR, but I could care less about who designs her dress or where he is staying the night before the wedding or what house she grew up in. There are far more important things going on in the world that need more attention!

I guess I live in a vacuum, 'cause really, the only place I've seen anything is here. Maybe I've just filtered it out. That said, I've regarded it with some interest... I don't know that I'll be up at 4 AM to watch it, but I'll seek out videos after. I love a good wedding.
